October 1,2,3 Challenge

Over at the 1,2,3 Challenge Blog the criteria for this months challenge were:
- use 5 papers
- use one b/w and one colour photo
- use lots of tearing and crumpling

Well, this LO took me ages, but I finally got it finished in time.... and I love it! I have used Bella Damsel papers, lots of tearing and crumpling, and lots of stitching.

This is a photo of Emily from about 5 years ago (when she was about 6 years old), and she was busy concentrating on her colouring in.

Lime Tart Recipe Challenge #3

The recipe challenge at Lime Tart for this fortnight was to use rubons, stitching and buttons on a project. Well, I decided I would start my Christmas cards with this challenge, and have seen this colour combination before and wanted to try it myself.

I have used rubons as a bow and on the button, the button is the centre of the flower, and I put a few cross stitches on each side. I used my Tombow pens to colour the images.

Get Well Card

Finally finished my homeschool preparation for term 4, and can get on with some craft.

Here is a card I made last night - it didn't finish up the way I had planned it out in my head, but I'm still happy with it!

Used up some scraps of BG Lime Ricky and WRMK papers.

Lime Tart Challenge Tuesday

I have been very busy preparing homeschooling for next term while my kids are away on mission trip, but I have missed crafting. Hopefully I will get back to it soon.

In a moment of net surfing today I came across a new challenge running over at Lime Tart Blog each Tuesday fortnight. Interested? Check their blog out here. They are offering some fantastic prizes, and I hope I will have time to enter their fortnightly recipe challenges soon!

World Card Making Day

World card making day was yesterday (3rd October), and Inkurable Stampers blog are running a challenge to make a card without a traditional opening (and at least one stamp of course!). Sarah made a gorgeous Tri-fold shutter card, which has maybe inspired my Christmas cards for this year.

However, for the challenge I made a swing (flip-flop) card from this tuturial at Splitcoast Stampers. The centre part has two sides - one side is visible when the card is shut, and when you open the card it flops to the other side which is where your message goes - a very clever idea.

I have used Stampin Up 'Polka Dots and Paisley' stamps on mine.

October Challenge - Inkurable Stampers

The new challenge is up over at Inkurable Stampers blog. When I saw it last night, I just knew exactly what I was going to do. Miss Emily made a tiny felted panda for a friend's birthday, and I thought this Chinese noodle box (you can find the template here) was just the perfect way to 'wrap' her panda.

The box measures only 2 inches tall. I have coloured the background, then stamped different images around the outside. It has been edged in black with a stitching line, then embellished with kindy glitz and rhinestones. The only thing I did differently to the instructions was to make sure the flaps were folded to the inside, so I had a clean/flat stamping surface.

Emily's friend loves blue, so I really hope she will like receiving this little gift!
