November Sketch Challenge @ 123scrapbook.com.au

Another share, but today it is a scrapbook LO. This one is for the November Sketch Challenge over at 123scrapbook.com.au and was prepared by the talented Renee Ludlow. You can see the sketch and her interpretation here.

My LO uses a several papers from different manufacturers, but I was particularly inspired by the Crate Paper 'bliss collection' paper called impulse - that is the lovely chocolate brown one in the background with the flowers on it. My flowers in the bottom left corner were inspired by the flowers on that paper.

Thanks for a great challenge Renee!

This is my beautiful miss Emily back in June working on her first knitted scarf as part of a homeschooling project.

Blank (all purpose) cards

I made a set of all purpose cards yesterday. Here is a picture of two of the versions - most only differ slightly in the flowers/buttons used and the position of the patchwork square, and the papers used on the inside.

These papers were the beautiful Kimberley Poloson 'Nature's Flora' range.

Inspiration Card Challenge at 123Scrapbook.com.au

Ok, so 123scrapbook.com.au is having a big Christmas competition at the moment. As an extra to the competition you could take part in a challenge to create a card based on a picture for inspiration. Here is the picture that you had to be inspired by:

For the challenge at 123scrapbook.com.au I created a triangle card, and drew my inspiration from the colours and the buttons in the original picture. I have also made an envelope to snugly fit my card, in a matching blue.

I wanted to make a triangle card because I had seen them over at Godelieve's blog which you can visit here.

Thank You Card

I've been busy making a few thank you cards this week. I have used Kaiser 'Esther's Guestlist' papers, Kaiser 'flower' stamp, glimmermist, kindy glitz, dimensional magic with button, thread and versamark black ink.

I was not so sure of the colours in these papers before I started, but I was really happy with how the cards turned out when I was finished.

I carefully cut sections of the flower to raise and lower different sections so the flower had more dimension.

Lime Tart Recipe Challenge #4

Lime Tart's fortnightly recipe challenge this time was to use black and white and one other colour only. Here is a close up of one of my cards. It measures 3.5" x 3.5".

I made the black rose, and layered black and white bazzill cardstock, and used colour paper scraps and coloured bazzill cardstock to match the rose centre. I also used Basic Grey flourish stamps and Stamp-It curlicue stamp.

I needed a series of 6 cards, and made these in 6 different colour ways. Which one do you think works the best? I'm partial to the brown one and the blue one, but I'd love to know what you think...

Inkurable Stampers November Challenge

So I'm back already with my twinchie challenge for Inkurable Stampers blog for November. The theme was to create a twinchie (a 2" x 2" piece of art) that was Christmas themed, and to attached it to a project - and you must include a stamp of course!

Here is my twinchie:

And here it is on the swing tag I made for a Christmas gift:

I used Bazzill and Prima Urban Cosmos 'cosmos' paper. I used the Tim Holtz 'photography' stamp for the clock face, and for the background behind the word 'Christmas' and the word 'time'. I used Kaisercraft 'Dear Santa' clear stamps for the damask images and the circle date on the tag, and Kaisercraft 'All About Me' clear stamps to make up the word 'time'.

I really enjoyed this challenge, and ended up making 3 other tags the same, but in different colourways. Thanks Sarah!

Scraplings Tags to say Thank You

Well, Christmas is fast approaching, as is the end of the year. It is a great time to say thanks to people who have given their time up in service to someone else.

Over at Inkurable Stampers the challenge for this month is to make a 'twinchie' - a 2x2 inch piece of paper art. I will be revealing mine soon, but Sarah also talked about some other sized art pieces, including 'scraplings'. I really loved the size of these (1 1/4 inch x 4 1/4 inch), and decided I would try making some.

I had to make some thank you tags for some teenagers at church who have helped out in the creche department, and this is what I came up with (both male and female versions). I tried to keep the scraplings a bit funky and grungy at the same time. The female ones are made with Imagination Project 'Chloes Closet' papers, the male ones with a little Basic Grey 'Figgy Pudding', as well as bazzill, and Kaisercraft 'offshore' and 'friends' clear stamps.

If you like the size and want to see more, why don't you pop over to Godelieve's blog as she has some fantastic scraplings that she has made, and I'm sure they will inspire you!
