Well I have spent the best part of my day working on my first entry to the Etsy Inspired Challenge Blog. This week they are showcasing the Etsy store Modern Bird - you can find some simply beautiful sterling silver, nature inspired jewellery in this store!
I was inspired by this gorgeous necklace ....
The heart, the little splash of red, the overaly grey scale and even the name of the item all worked together to become this ATC.
The background began life as a piece of black cardstock, which has been dry brushed in metallic silver, coated with mod podge and torn white tissue paper, covered with black soot DI using an applicator and stamped with Darkroom Door background floral stamp in black stazon. Then I layered some Kaiser 'After Five' paper with black cardstock cut with a scalloped edge. I then stitched this black piece in DMC #398 thread using large blanket stitches. The phrase is made using Darkroom Door 'All Occasions' stamps and edged using a Tombow marker (#847). The rhinestones were coloured with cranberry Alcohol Ink.
The heart was hand cut from a piece of chipboard. It was covered with Jo Sonja texture paste and a design worked into the paste, stipple painted with Jo Sonja silver metallic paint and sealed using mod podge. I rubbed some black paint over the heart and rubbed off as much excess as I could.
I used beading wire, jump rings and a few beads to work up the attachment.
Thanks for stopping by!
