Welcome to the Play Date Cafe! - PDCC64

I'm so excited to be here and share my first creation as part of the new design team over at The Play Date Cafe.  If you haven't played before, or haven't played for a while, why not pop on over and see what the other girls have created for your inspiration!  If you're a regular, we'd all love you to be involved in our very first week on the team :)

This week sees a lovely muted palette put together by Julie Ranae...

And here is my inspirational creation for you....

This gift box is perfect so many occasions, but when I was creating it, I had it purposed as a male gift box.  The tan cardstock is scored and the protruding folds lightly coloured in brushed corduroy DI.  All the sections, both inside and out were layered with white cardstock, and then each one alternating either blue or grey.  With so many layers of cardstock, this gift box is quite sturdy!

The blue sections are MME Bella Bella paper, stamped with Stampotique 'honeycomb background' and clear embossed, with the edges inked in weathered wood DI.  The grey sections are SEI Windsor paper, stamped with various images from Kaiser 'rewind' stamps in pumice stone DI.

The only other supplies I used were a little bit of blue sewing thread, some white eyelets, and some grey ribbon.  The matching gift tag was made out of the scraps left on the table once the gift box was complete!

Now how about visiting some of the other Design Team Member blogs to see what they have made for your inspiration?  All the details about how to enter can be found at The Play Date Cafe blog.

The instructions on how to cut and fold the gift box can be found at Splitcoast Stampers here.  Thanks for stopping by!

An awesomely creative project, Fee! Love the way it can be multi-purposed as both a card and a gift box...and for a boy or a girl! And thanks for the link to Splitcoast, I'm sure many others like me would like to try our hands at making something this cool! Great first project for our team...way to go!
