The Play Date Cafe #71

Welcome back friends for another exciting week at the Play Date Cafe!  Wait till you see what we have lined up for you this week!  Here is the awesome inspiration picture Julie Ranae has put together to inspire you....

You might be wondering about now what is going on with all those colours....  Well, this week is a colour splash week - with a twist!  Those of you who are new to the Play Date Cafe, or can't quite figure out what is going on, a colour splash is when you use predominantly BLACK and WHITE to make your project, with just a splash of colour.  This week we are being sponsored by The Twinery, and in honour of the beautiful colours they offer in their twine, YOU get to choose ONE and only ONE colour to use as your splash colour this week.  The design team used twine from The Twinery as their splash colour.  Here is my example using 'blossom' pink twine...

You see?  Black and white, with a splash of colour!  Simple!

I have used black and white bazzill card for the card base, then layered some The Girls Paperie 'shabby flower' and Bella Grace 'swish' paper, and broken them up with a ribbon.  The white flowers are from Kaisercraft, and I have used The Twinery 'Blossom' pink twine to coil up and then stitch over for flower centres before adding black buttons.

The greeting is Technique Tuesday 'Everyday Words' by Ali Edwards.  I love black/white/pink as a colour combo, and am really happy with how this card finished up, even though it isn't quite as quirky as I had originally designed!

What ONE colour will you pick this week to 'SPLASH' with black and white?

As I mentioned earlier, we are being sponsored by The Twinery, and have a look at the awesome prize up for grabs this week....

... so what are you waiting for?  Get your skates on, check out the other designers, and get cracking on your entry!
