Stampotique Designers Challenge #48

It's challenge time again at Stampotique Designers Challenge Blog!  This week the challenge is to CASE a Stampotique Designer.  How awesome is that?!  So much inspiration to choose from....

I have decided to try my hand at CASE-ing the work of the very talented Kate Crane.  I had fun trawling back through her blog to find a project that I could CASE pretty closely.  Toward the end of last year Kate made a bookmark for one of the Stampotique Designer Challenges, and I had two of the three stamps, so I thought it would be a good one to try.  You can see Kate's original masterpiece right here on her blog.

I was missing the splatter stamp, so had to make do with splats of ink from the end of the dropper.

I think mine is a little bit 'heavier' (darker?) than Kate's, and those splats are quite obviously not the same.

Overall I am pretty happy with how it turned out - but how awesome would it be to see them side by side in real life??  Kate - fancy a trip Down Under??  Just kidding...  ;)

Thanks for stopping by

Play Date Cafe PDCC#117

I have joined in on the colour fun at The Play Date Cafe this week (#117) with this beautiful soft colour scheme.

I am going to a 21st birthday party soon, and there is a bit of a vintage theme happening, so I thought I'd make a card that kind of fits in with the theme.

**Edited to add: This was chosen as a Fab 4

I crocheted this rose and leaves to be the main feature of the card - but kept it fairly simple otherwise.

Thanks so much for visiting!

Stampotique Designers Challenge #47

The theme this fortnight over at Stampotique Designers Challenge is Altered Items.

I've had this clothing tag sitting in my bedroom for months and months (and months - the store closed down about 6 months ago...!!) and I have been reluctant to throw it out (nor the other 3 or 4 that were sitting alongside it) because you just never know when you might just need one for something.  Thanks to Stampotique Designers Challenge for providing the perfect opportunity to use one!

This is the before photo.....

And this is the after photo....

** Edited to add: This was chosen as a favourite

Pretty cool huh?  Don't forget if you want to join in the challenge you have to use Stampotique stamps :)
Thanks for stopping by :)

Gingersnaps Creations GC136 Colour Challenge

This is the current colour challenge over at Gingersnaps Creations - Glorious Greens.

I had no real plan when I began this, other than my Stampotique 'Head' guy had to be green.... I have used mostly muted greens, including a couple of big paint globs down the bottom to represent, well, you know what happens when you feel THAT green.... !!

Thanks for stopping by :)

February Calendar

Here is my calendar page for February.  I struggled with this one a bit.  I think I tried too hard - sometimes when I try too hard, things just don't seem to come together the way I see them in my head.  I haven't been able to get any more pages done, but I'm going to try to relax a little more when I do the next one...

I'm not using this as an art journal, just a calendar.  I'm building up to the art journal... maybe next year ;)  I'm joining in with Kate Crane's Calendar Challenge.  You can see her February post here.
